What brought you to the CTG UAlbany?
I am a Doctorate student in Information Science Degree in the COLLEGE OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, HOMELAND SECURITY AND CYBERSECURITY (CEHC) UAlbany. My current research interests are Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Computer Vision, and Data Analytics. As for my skills, I am proficient in various programming languages (Java, Python, etc.) and technologies (Web, MVC, microsystems). With CTG working on multiple projects and technologies, It’s a Gold mine for knowledge and understanding of the technologies. It has a perfect blend of academic studies and real-life practical solutions to resolve societal issues. CTG also provides an open stage for Ph.D students to share, discuss and gather knowledge from various accredited scholars and distinguished professionals to pursue their goals.
What did you do before coming to CTG UAlbany?
Prior to CTG, I worked as a Software Developer in a Financial and Investments organization. During which I worked on various projects and assisted in the design, development, and testing of various live projects used by millions across the globe. I was also responsible for smooth communication across teams based globally to ensure the systems were always up and running, which gave me an excellent opportunity to be connected to people of various diversities. I also attended a Data Analytics Bootcamp at the University of California parallelly to further improve my skills.
What are your plans/goals for the future?
Pursuing a Ph.D. has been a childhood dream, and every decision and step I have taken in my life has been toward this dream. My interest lies in Space and Astronomical studies. With my knowledge in Computer science, I wish to work in securing the communication between satellites, as not only do they help in accessing various information across the globe, but they also serve as a frontier to expand our knowledge regarding space. I have been following various Human Achievements across space since my childhood, may it be Apollo Missions, Voyager Missions to latest SpaceX technologies. My only wish is to provide my insight and knowledge in the field for the betterment of our society.
How can CTG UAlbany help you reach your goal for the future?
CTG serves as a great platform to connect the book-learned knowledge to practical, real-life problems. Just having knowledge is never enough if real-life problems can’t be solved has been my belief system. CTG helps connect the bridge where I can share and utilize my expertise in various projects that are being used by people daily. CTG also helps connect different like-minded people helping me grow in my profession and social skills. CTG serves as an initial milestone for researchers like me to learn, observe, adapt, and resolve with aim to improve and grow.
