Dr. Feng (Johnson) Qian is an associate professor of health policy and management at the School of Public Health, University at Albany-SUNY. He is passionate about enabling AI, big data, real-world evidence, and medical innovations to improve population health and happiness. He is a health services and outcomes researcher with clinical background in cardiac surgery, PhD degree in health services research and policy from University of Rochester, and MBA degree from Columbia Business School. He has 15 years of experience of leading federally and state funded comparative effectiveness and healthcare disparities research, health technology assessment studies, and population-based disease management projects using electronic health records (EHR) data. He serves as vice chair of advisory committee for AcademyHealth's quality and value interest group, member of NYS cardiac advisory committee executive committee, board member of regional health information organization (RHIO) Hixny, and advisory board member of AiDANT Intelligent Technology. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed research papers and advised 90 graduate students.
