Building a Sustainable International Digital Government Research Community
Today, digital government (DG) research is being conducted all over the world. Most of this work is focused within the geographic and political contexts of individual countries. However, given the growing influence of global economic, social, technical, and political forces, the questions embedded in digital government research are now expanding to international dimensions that focus on topics that cross the jurisdictions, cultures, or customs of different countries. Project Summary
The goal of this four-year effort was to create a framework for a sustainable global community of practice among digital government researchers and research sponsors. Funded by the US National Science Foundation Digital Government Research Program, the project included an international reconnaissance study describing the current status of digital government research, an annual research institute, and a framework for several international working groups.

The annual iGov Research Institute is a week-long residential program for doctoral students who are interested in ways to advance, study, and understand digital government research in an international context.
