Meghan Cook Receives UAlbany Initiatives in Women Award
Meghan Cook recently received the University at Albany's Initiatives for Women Award (IFW) to participate at CeDEM14 in Krems, Austria. IFW enables women students, staff and faculty to realize their academic and career potential. The program builds on the University at Albany's tradition of providing equal educational opportunity to women by supporting different categories of awards for women of promise: general, presidential, and endowed awards.
The IFW allowed Meghan to participate at the international Conference for e-Democracy and Open Government (CeDEM14), which brings together e-democracy, e-participation and open government specialists working in academia, politics, government and business to critically analyse the innovations, issues, ideas and challenges in the networked societies of the digital age.
For this year's conference, Meghan Cook conducted a workshop on Maximizing the Public Value of Open Government: A Workshop on CTG’s Strategic Planning Approach. In addition, Meghan presented an accepted management paper entitled Open Data Planning Activities: Emerging Practices from a Public Value Approach. The conference is hosted by the Centre for E-Governance at the Danube University Krems; the center has been organizing conferences on e-democracy and public administration since 2007.
