Center for Technology in Government (CTG) Director and Associate Research Professor Dr. Theresa Pardo has joined the National Science Foundation’s Business and Operations Advisory Committee where she will help with the oversight, integrity, development, and enhancement of the Foundation’s business operations for a three year term.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is a federal agency created by the United States Congress more than sixty years ago to promote the progress of science, advance national health, prosperity, and welfare, and to secure national defense. With an annual budget of $7.5 billion, NSF is the funding source for approximately 24 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America's colleges and universities, including many projects at UAlbany. The Business and Operations Advisory Committee that Dr. Pardo has joined is integral to major initiatives at NSF, including in the areas of electronic government, financial management, and performance measurement.

CTG has worked closely with NSF for more than fifteen years and has completed several NSF funded projects, including one in which CTG partnered with the U.S. Library of Congress to develop strategies for states to digitally preserve government information.
