Aryamala Prasad is a researcher in digital government at the Center for Technology in Government.

Her academic research focuses on the use of digital technologies in improving the quality of public services. She examines administrative responsiveness to mass comment campaigns submitted to federal agencies. Relatedly, her dissertation identified the circumstances under which bureaucrats are more likely to respond to citizen feedback in Indian cities. She has also contributed to studies on data privacy in the United States and Europe.

She has previously worked with the World Bank, OneWorld Foundation India, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad on public sector governance in India, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.

Prasad has contributed to impact assessment studies on India’s National E-Governance Plan and authored policy notes and case studies on the use of information and communications technology (ICT) to improve public service delivery.

She has also provided technical inputs to design digital government projects in the Indian states of Kerala and Mizoram.
