What brought you to CTG UAlbany?

As a master's student in computer and information sciences, my research interests lie in the application of artificial intelligence, data analysis, web technologies, and computer vision. CTG UAlbany perfectly aligns with my research agenda, making it an ideal choice for my professional growth.

What did you do prior to coming to CTG UAlbany?

Prior to joining CTG UAlbany, I gained extensive experience as a Data Engineer Trainee and Web Developer Intern, where I developed and refined my skills in data science, cloud computing, and web technologies. This professional background, combined with my academic foundation and hands-on project work in AI and data analysis, positioned me well for furthering my professional development at CTG UAlbany. Here, I have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, such as developing AI models for the New York State Department of Financial Services, which aligns perfectly with my goal of leveraging technology to drive meaningful change.

What are your plans/goals for the future?

My future goal is to become an Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineer, a role that requires combined expertise in software development, programming, data science, and data engineering. The position of Research Project Assistant at the Center for Technology in Government (CTG) offers an exciting opportunity for me to acquire both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills. By merging my academic foundation with the practical insights gained at CTG, I am confident in my ability to develop and implement AI models and data-driven solutions that enhance decision-making processes, improve efficiencies, and deliver tangible benefits to society.

In the long term, I aspire to take on leadership roles where I can influence the strategic direction of technology initiatives within organizations, fostering environments that promote ethical AI practices and data integrity. Additionally, I plan to stay committed to continuous learning and professional development to remain abreast of emerging technologies and trends, ensuring that I can contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field.

How can CTG UAlbany help you reach your goal for the future?

My current role as an Artificial Intelligence Research Assistant at CTG UAlbany is perfectly aligned with my career goals. Working on developing an AI model to assist the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS, I am gaining invaluable experience in AI, data analysis, and machine learning.

The expertise and guidance from the experienced team at CTG UAlbany are enhancing my technical skills and my ability to tackle complex issues from multiple perspectives. By engaging in tasks like web scraping, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs), I am acquiring practical, hands-on experience.
