What brought you to CTG UAlbany?

I am a Ph.D. student in Information Science at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity. My primary specialization is information, Government, and Democratic Society. Additionally, my secondary area of specialization is Data Analytics. My research interests encompass open government, open government data, digital government, and artificial intelligence.

Throughout my pursuit of a doctoral degree, I want to learn how implementing and utilizing technology can effectively assist the government in delivering services to its citizens. Lately, I have also been interested in researching the use of artificial intelligence systems in the government sector to support decision-making effectively and improve internal organization processes. These technologies can significantly enhance decision-making capabilities and facilitate internal organizational processes. Given my research interests, the CTG at UAlbany is an ideal research center for me to further my knowledge and proficiency in researching technology in government.

What did you do prior to coming to CTG UAlbany?

Before joining CTG UAlbany, I held the position of publication and data dissemination coordinator at the Statistics Management Unit, Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics of DKI Jakarta Province. I also had the opportunity to serve as a data analyst for the One Data for Indonesia pilot project under the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Before pursuing my doctoral degree at UAlbany, I received a master's degree in Computer Information Systems with a concentration in Data Analytics and IT Project Management from Boston University. Before that, I received a bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Deakin University and a bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University.

What are your plans/goals for the future?

Upon obtaining my doctoral degree at UAlbany, I intend to continue my career as a researcher specializing in the use of information technology within government organizations. This involves studying how technology might influence the structure and culture of government organizations. As a researcher, I hope to support the government utilizing technology to enhance its internal processes and provide better services to its citizens.

How can CTG UAlbany help you reach your goal for the future?

Working as a research assistant at CTG UAlbany will support me in achieving my goals as a doctoral student focusing on research related to government and technology. Additionally, it will help me better prepare myself for my long-term career in the future in terms of research skills. This privileged opportunity will allow me to gain hands-on experience and apply the theoretical knowledge I have obtained in my academic coursework to practical projects. Also, while working with people at CTG, I expect to gain knowledge from their experiences conducting research in technology on government-related topics. This will expand my knowledge, broaden my research skills, and strengthening my future professional prospects.
