Brief Bio

Mary Feeney is Frank and June Sackton Chair and Professor in the School of Public Affairs at Arizona State University. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration. Feeney's research focuses on public management, nonprofit management, and science and technology policy and previously served as the Program Director for the Science of Science: Discovery, Communication and Impact program at the National Science Foundation (2021-2024). She was the editor of the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory from 2019 to 2024. Feeney currently serves on the editorial boards of Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory, Government Information Quarterly, Perspectives on Public Management & Governance, and Journal of Behavioral Public Administration. She was previously on the editorial boards of American Review of Public Administration, International Public Management Journal, Public Administration Review, Public Integrity, and Public Performance & Management Review.

Feeney has two books: "Nonprofit Organizations & Civil Society in the United States" with Kelly LeRoux (Routledge, 2014) and "Rules and Red Tape: A Prism for Public Administration Theory and Research" with Barry Bozeman (ME Sharpe, 2011).
